Your Depression and Anxiety Are Trying to Tell You Something

Waking Up With a Gasp

Every morning it feels like an 11-ton elephant on my chest as I think of the worst-case scenario for every aspect of my life.

Future thoughts of how bad it’s going to be drags me back into bed and under the covers, the only solace I can find in this never-ending cycle of fear and self-loathing.

Past Regrets Holding Me Down

How can I live fully today if I’m always thinking about what I did wrong in the past?

How am I not going to make the same mistakes again? How can I ever trust myself?

I feel like I’m suffocating and drowning in these thoughts of shame and embarrassment.

Avoiding These Thoughts and Feelings Only Makes It Worse

Yes, avoiding your thoughts and feelings does make it worse. Sometimes we’ve been taught to swallow our feelings, but where do they go but create a huge belly of fear and sadness?

They are coming to you for a reason. Your thoughts, your feelings, your depression and anxiety are trying to tell you something.

Instead of hiding from it, let’s bring it all to the table. With an open mind you can learn to talk to these thoughts and feelings like a detective, to find out why they are here and what they are trying to teach you about yourself.

The approach I use here is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With acceptance and flexibility, you can learn to live in the present moment without the gasp in the morning or the drowning in old shame.

You Can Heal From This and Live Every Day in the Here and Now

Come, sit with me in a non-judgmental, calm, and encouraging environment.

Together, we will talk about your past and future thinking patterns and why they were so important for you to hold on to.

They don’t serve you anymore, and I can show you why.

Live in the Here and Now

You can wake up without the elephant on your chest and stop drowning in what already happened.

Let’s Find Out if I’m Your Person

You want this to stop hurting, and you want it to stop soon. That’s fair, and it’s a good reason to pick up the phone.

There’s a version of your life where you say the true thing on the first try, the door stays open, and your voice comes back without an apology attached to it.

We’ll find out together whether I’m the right person for this.
